5/8/2013 1:10:00 PM Ride of Silence set for May 15
Submitted to Harbor Light Newspaper
The Ride of Silence will take place on Wednesday, May 15 at 6:30 p.m. and meet downtown Harbor Springs in the parking lot of the Harbormaster, 250 E. Bay St. (adjacent to the tennis courts by Stafford's Pier). Plan on joining cyclists for this worldwide event to honor cyclists that have been injured or killed while cycling on public roads.
Riders will be asked to sign-in followed by a brief discussion of the ride itself and some ride instructions. The ride will begin promptly at 7 p.m.
The ride is open to anyone and everyone that is capable of completing the course. There is no cost for the ride, and the only requirement is a working bicycle (tri-cycle, quad-cycle, unicycle...) and a helmet. This will be a slow, controlled ride (8-12 mph) in and around Harbor Springs. The route is about eight miles long and should take us just under an hour.
