Catching the Autumn Winds

The gales of November arrived a litte early as last Saturday saw some blustery winds blow through the region. The weather was welcomed by kiteboarders, including Harbor Springs resident Grant Croton (above, green sail), who said he started out at the Petoskey State Park, kiting up to Bayfront Park in Petoskey and back along the shore and out into the bay. Following a beautiful fall season, the past week has seen plenty of rain and cold temperatures. Tuesday morning, Oct. 29, dawned clear and cold with temperatures in the 20s. Water temperature in Little Traverse Bay measured at Irish Boat Shop in Harbor Springs on Monday, Oct. 28, stood at 54-degrees F. Mornings will be a bit brighter following the end of daylight saving time on Nov. 3. Remember to turn your clocks back an hour.
