9/11/2013 12:01:00 AM Nominations invited for annual Harbor Heroes awards
The 19th annual Harbor Heroes event will be held at Boyne Highlands Resort on October 16 beginning at 5:30 p.m. Harbor Heroes Awards Ceremony and Dinner shines a light on the unsung heroes of the community who do the little, everyday things that preserve the small town's unique character and charm. The evening's awards are special because the nominations come from the greater Harbor Springs community itself and winners are chosen through a simple popular vote.
"It's a way to commemorate our leaders and those making a difference in the community by working to maintain our roots while moving towards the future ," said Daniel DeWindt, Executive Director of the Harbor Springs Area Chamber. "Many visitors and town's people talk about the natural beauty of Harbor Springs, which it has, but the other beauty is the type of people we have- giving, hospitable and hard working," said DeWindt.
Nominations for the various awards are currently being accepted. Nomination forms may be found online at www.harborspringschamber.com. The chamber is also happy to mail, fax or email copies if you simply call 231-526-7999. The deadline for nominations is fast approaching - Nominate a candidate today!
