Cupps, James elected to Harbor Springs City Council

Incumbent John Cupps, Sr. garned the most votes for Harbor Springs City Council with 118 followed by Jeff James with 108 votes, according to the unofficial tally posted by the Emmet County Clerk's Office. The two men will serve a two year term on the council and will join city council members Pringle Pfeifer and Matt Bugera along with Mayor Al Dika.

Candidate Cecelia Johnston had 90 votes followed by Chris Baughman with 82. Trisha Witty, who resigned her candidacy but remained on the ballot, got 33 votes.

A total of 232 votes were cast in the city out of 1039 registered voteres, a 22-percent turnout.
