The Emmet County Planning Commission will review the 2009 Master Plan during its regular meetings on the first Thursday of each month at 7:30 p.m. starting February 6, 2014 in the Commissioners' Meeting Room of the Emmet County Building, 200 Division St., downtown Petoskey. The public is welcome and invited to attend and offer input.
The Michigan Planning Enabling Act requires that communities review their Master Plans every five years. You are invited to participate in the process of creating the vision for Emmet County for the next 20 years. The current Master Plan can be reviewed online:www.emmetcounty.org/master-plan-234/.
Suggested changes to the Master Plan can be made via email: firstname.lastname@example.org or by mailing to 3434 Harbor-Petoskey Road, Suite E, Harbor Springs, MI 49740.
A Master Plan is a policy document created to guide Planning Commission decisions on land use issues throughout the townships in Emmet County without their own zoning ordinances. The Master Plan guides Zoning Ordinance changes including text amendments and zoning map changes.
