Coolhouse Labs has kicked into full gear for the summer, with a full staff and nine companies from around the country who have come to Harbor Springs to kickstart entrepreneurial ventures.
"One day in, and I already feel like I know these teams better than four weeks into the program last year. Year one, we were essentially building the ship as we learned how to sail it. Now we have a clearer understanding of our role, and what we need to keep the teams focused on," said Jordan Breighner, founder and managing partner of Coolhouse Labs.
The summer start-up program is 12 weeks long. Teams then have the option of staying in Harbor Springs. Breighner said he's excited about the sheer amount of smart, creative energy buzzing through the lab right now.
"It's humbling to be surrounded by such a talented group of people. I stood up yesterday in front of nearly 40 young, talented designers, developers, and entrepreneurs. The first thing I thought was "wow there is a lot more people here than last year."
The community is invited to celebrate the "small town, big ideas" mission of Coolhouse and meet the creative energy behind this summer's cohort of start-ups on Friday, June 13 from 5-7 p.m.
