James O. Holton, Jr., fortified with the Sacraments of Holy Mother Church, passed away on Thursday, March 7, 2013 in St. Louis, Mo. Beloved husband for 68 years of the late Mary Ellen Hunkins Holton who passed away Oct. 30, 2012; dearest father of Catherine Holton, James O. Holton III (Ann), Richard C. Holton (Carlotta), David H. Holton (Victoria), Mark K. Holton (Nancy), Paul L. Holton, Mary Ellen Holton Chiasson (Steve), Lisa Bouchard Holton Carroll (Mark) and Lila J. Holton Schiel (Bob); dear grandfather to twenty-six and great grandfather to nineteen. Jim was a graduate of St. Louis University and served honorably as a Captain in the U.S. Marine Air Corps during World War II and the Korean Conflict. He was president of Citizens National Bank of Greater St. Louis, president of the Holton Insurance Agency and a co-founder of Boys Town of Missouri. He was also active in numerous St. Louis and Harbor Springs, Michigan community endeavors. He and his wife have spent the last twenty-two years in their beloved Harbor Springs, Michigan.
A Memorial Mass celebrating the lives of James and Mary Ellen Holton will take place on Wed. July 31, 2013 at 11:00 AM at Holy Childhood Church in Harbor Springs. Fr. Joseph Graff will be the celebrant. Immediately following Mass a luncheon will be served in the Holy Childhood Community Hall.
