Lucille Grace Causley

Lucille Grace Causley 18 of Harbor Springs and Colorado died January 30, 2010 in Colorado . Funeral services will be held on Sunday Feb. 7th at 3:00 P.M. at Emmanuel Episcopal Church in Petoskey. Fr. Greg Brown will be the celebrant. The family will receive friends at the church beginning at 2:00 PM on Sunday. Following the service family and friends are invited to join the Causley family at Nubs Nob for a time of remembrance and fellowship.

Lucy was an outgoing and joyful human being. She embraced life, people and skiing. She spread her love, enthusiasm and happiness to all.

Lucy was born in Detroit , Michigan, on April 1, 1991. She lived in Grosse Pointe Woods , Michigan for the first ten years of her life. She moved up to Harbor Springs with her family in 2001. Lucy participated in the Harbor Springs middle school and high school ski teams, the Harbor Soccer travel teams, the Harbor Springs high school soccer team and the middle school and high school bands, playing the clarinet. She continued her high school education at the Lowell Whiteman School in Steamboat Springs , Colorado where she participated in ski racing and their foreign travel program. She traveled with her school group to Vietnam and Cambodia , last year, sight-seeing and doing service projects. Lucy graduated from Lowell Whiteman in June 2009 and chose Western State College in Gunnison , Colorado to pursue a major in the Outdoor Leadership and Resort Management program.

Lucy loved the outdoors; hiking, camping, and canoeing, especially up in Ontario , Canada where she attended Camp-Bil-O-Wood for many summers. Lucy also loved the mountains of Colorado and the fresh waters of the Great Lakes .

Lucy will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved her. She is survived by her father and mother, Richard and Susan Causley; her brother, Tom; her sister, Anna; her grandmothers, Delores Causley and Kathleen Candler; and all her aunts, uncles cousins and many friends who loved her deeply.

In lieu of flowers, Lucy’s family asks that donations be made to The Lowell Whiteman School for a scholarship that is being created in her name. The address is: The Lowell Whiteman School 42605 RCR 36
